The Team

We are a small and growing team at Cellexus.

Between us we have many years of business and technical expertise, particularly within the medical devices sector.

Bob Cumming is a founding shareholder in Cellexus and joined the company as General Manager in 2012.

Bob studied microbiology at Glasgow University before joining Avon Medicals as production manager, manufacturing blood transfusion sets and renal diaysis equipment. This was followed as General Manager of Cimid manufacturing heart lung by-pass equipment and he was then recruited to run Intercobra, which he subsequently bought out of administration and in turn was bought out.

Bob has since formed a number of companies including Ecosse Medical (Thermodilution catheters) sold to 3M Ltd; Ashfield Medical (disposable surgical drapes) sold to Medex Corporation; and DNA Research, a life science company sold to Invitrogen for £37m.

A Chartered Management Accountant, Malcolm Bateman spent about 30 years working with UK, US and German automotive and pharmaceutical multinationals. Malcolm has held a variety of financial posts and was latterly Managing Director of a major automotive component manufacturer.
